Iceland Day 16

Today was stuffed full of fjords, falls, and birds, as we drove from  Ísafjörður to Patreksfjörður and added a long hop to the cliffs at Látrabjarg.

It’s hard to cull the scenery pics, it was all too stunning. Fjords ahead!

Dynjandi is a series of waterfalls in the Westfjords.

Látrabjarg is promontory cliffs at the western-most point of Iceland — using my reindeer analogy it’s at the bottom tip of the antlers. The drive out was scary — one lane mountainous gravel roads in the fog. We weren’t sure what we’d be able to see when we got there, and we only had a short window of time to do it in. Which was too bad, we had to tear ourselves away. The cliffs are home to millions of birds, including puffins, northern gannets, guillemots and razorbills. Our time-limited visit was one of the biggest regrets of the trip.
